Spring Skincare Tips for a Natural Luminous Glow

After months of snow and cold, harsh temperatures, it finally smells like spring air. However, winter has left an aftermath of dry, itchy skin in its wake. Meaning it's time to prep your pretty face for the sunnier days ahead.

Why should I change my skincare routine in spring?

During the winter months, the care your skin needs is much different from the attention it requires in the spring. The new season brings an updated spring skincare routine that features switching a few products around and incorporating new ingredients to achieve healthier skin and a naturally luminous glow.

Double Cleanse

Warmer days mean enjoying the outdoors, sweating and adding layers of sunscreen that may block pores that can already be congested from winter. A double cleanse will help your skin be ready to absorb more easily the serums, toners, and the rest of your skincare products.

Peptides should be your new besties

Peptides have been thrown around in skincare for a while now, and for good reason. They act as messaging agents to the skin, prompting it to get into rejuvenation mode. They have the ability to stimulate the body to generate collagen and elastin, thus repairing damaged skin over time. Look for peptides in products like the Oracle Eye Cream which has anti-inflammatory and antioxidant benefits, in other words, it protects skin against the environment.

Get fresh with a facial mist

Facial mists are great year-round, but during spring it means a quick burst of hydration. A spritz of Visage Facial Mist helps soothe, hydrate, and balance your skin’s pH levels. Plus, it is rich in peptides, which means it can help to smooth the appearance of lines and wrinkles.

Spring-clean your beauty stash

While the term spring-cleaning denotes an annual approach to decluttering your house and closet, it can also be applied to your skincare. Spring-clean your skincare every six months at least, cleanse or swap out washcloths, sponges, and makeup brushes. Dusting off your beauty products also helps remind you of what you currently have. Keep a lookout for out-of-date products, these are breeding grounds for bacteria, yeast, and mold, irritating our skin and contributing to breakouts and infections.

Hydrate In Layers

If you’re spending more time outdoors, it means you are more likely sweating more than before. Layering hydrating, you create a lighter moisture barrier that is just as effective.
